Makiyah Smallwood, a senior at Grand Valley State, placed second in the men's 60-meter hurdles final at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference final, being held off by Davenport freshman Ethan Flores by a 7.93 to 7.94 margin at Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich.
